Jerry Granelli's V16 is an electric guitar quartet unlike any you've ever heard.  Simply put: V16 takes risks and wins. At its core, the quartet is an exploratory ensemble, working from a myriad of influences and leaving nothing on the stage. As Granelli summarizes: "Our only guideline is to try and convey meaning and depth in terms of the emotional qualities of the composition." Accompanied by David Tronzo, the rip-roaring superstar of the electric slide guitar; searing German electric-guitarist Christian Kögel; and J. Anthony Granelli on electric bass, legendary percussionist Jerry Granelli leads a band that will defy your expectations. The nearly-unclassifiable V16 (Granelli's tongue-in-cheek description as "spacey ambient/improv/ free-form roots 'n blues-cum-chamber jazz" may come closest) navigates what one critic called "those rare collective improvisations that can at time[s] sound fully composed…Honestly, prepare to be amazed, because it's that good."  You may also remember Granelli either as a pioneer of psychedelic music or as percussionist from Vince Guaraldi's A Charlie Brown Christmas LP.
