Eric Vloeimans: Fugimundi

Dutch trumpeter Eric Vloeimans, who's playing JazzTimes described "as crisp and selfassured, embodying the articulate melodism of Clifford Brown plus many shades of Miles, without being imitative," and his trio Fugimundi, featuring guitarist Anton Goudsmit and pianist Harmen Fraanie, makes its US tour debut this month. Vloeimans has played around the world with many top jazz musicians, including Mercer Ellington, Charlie Mariano, Joey Baron, and Han Bennink. He is a four-time recipient of the Dutch Edison Award and has also won the Elly Ameling Prize of the City of Rotterdam as well as the Boy Edgard Award. Vloeimans has recorded twelve albums as a leader and appeared on dozens more as a sideman. As an in demand clinician and instructor, Vloeimans has taught summer courses and master classes in universities throughout Holland, Belgium and Germany.
