Jack Straw Artist Residency programs offer established and emerging artists in diverse disciplines an opportunity to explore the creative use of sound through residencies in our recording studios and participation in our various presentation programs. Host Film Screening Project Fukushima!
Documentary film Project Fukushima! screened for free at this year’s Bellevue Aki Matsuri, in September. Featuring music and poetry by Otomo Yoshihide, Michiro Endo, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Ryoichi Wago and others, this 2012 documentary film matter-of-factly follows preparations leading up to the arts festival Fukushima!, showing the realities that face Fukushima residents following the nuclear accident. Jazz at the Oxford, Bend, Ore.
The fifth annual lineup for Bend Broadband’s Jazz at the Oxford has been announced. This year’s series features trumpet legend Randy Brecker, Brazilian guitar virtuoso Diego Figueiredo with acclaimed French singer Cyrille Aimée, former Tower of Power and Santana organist Chester Thompson with Portland’s Soul Vaccination, and Mel Brown’s B-3 Organ Group, celebrating the release of their new CD.
