October 6 - November 5, 2023

The Earshot Jazz Festival returns this year with performances from both resident and world renowned artists at venues all around Seattle!

We’re back with “Seattle’s most important annual jazz event” (DownBeat), once again presenting today’s brilliant jazz artists over the course of 30 fall days in venues all around the city. In programming across four weeks, we’ve created a series that embodies the history, evolution, and spirit of jazz as it exists around the world as well as right here at home. Noted as, “a festival of adventurous au courant jazz” (JazzTimes), the festival kicks off on October 6 and winds down on November 5. In between are concerts and events by established legends and exciting emerging artists, truly representing today’s most dynamic and diffuse art form.

Get excited to be a part of album debuts, world premieres, and more.

Year after year, the Earshot festival celebrates Seattle’s place in the world of jazz by featuring performances, premieres, and special projects by Seattle’s esteemed resident artists alongside international masters.

This year’s featured resident artist is Johnaye Kendrick, who will unveil new music with female supergroup säje. Also included in this year’s festival is the world premiere of three new festival commissions from Jahnvi Madan, Carlos Snaider, and Sheridan Riley. Special projects include workshops (to be announced soon); a battle of the bands between Roosevelt and Garfield High School; a night of dancing with the swing, jump-blues, and rock ‘n’ roll revival band Birch Pereira & Delta Jump. We have even curated playlists for each week.

Creative freedom allows for creative partnerships that make the festival what it is: truly special.

Once again, we are so grateful to be able to collaborate with artists, venues, and our community to make the festival happen again this year.

In addition to three new festival commissions granted to seasoned resident artists, there is so much else to look forward to this year. Discover all of the resident artists on the schedule this year. In collaboration with LANGSTON Seattle, there will be a whole week of shows at the historic Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute, including a workshop with Georgia Anne Muldrow. You can even enjoy hi-fi listening experiences from Maiden Voyage.

There is so much to look forward to this year thanks to our partnerships.
