Clave Gringa in concert

November 4, 2023 @ 7:00 pm9:00 pm

$20

From the charm of the cha-cha-cha to the depth of AfroCuban rhythms, Clave Gringa presents a broad spectrum of Cuban music; original engaging compositions by Ann Reynolds as well as Cuban classics. Clave Gringa will take you on a journey through Cuban music from the classically oriented danzon and cha-cha-cha styles to the African folkloric sounds and rumba. You won’t be able to sit still! Clave Gringa plays original Cuban jazz originals composed by the leader, pianist Ann Reynolds, and Cuban standards that capture the joy and positive energy and love of Cuba.

A unique setting for the Clave Gringa quartet. Ann will play a 9 ft Steinway concert grand on the stage of the piano showroom. There will be room for getting up to move and dance. Very much encouraged. Daniel Barry on trumpet, Willie Garza on congas, Andy Zadrozny on bass.

Piano – Ann Reynolds In 2000 Ann went to Cuba for the first time and fell in love… with the music and the people. In recent years, she has discovered her artistry in musical composition and find that people respond to the genuineness and expression in the music she composes and the way in which she plays it.

Her music was recorded in 2014 in the debut album by Clave Gringa, “Para Cuba con Amor” and in the second recording “Joy” in 2019. You can find Ann performing with Clave Gringa and other groups in the Seattle/Puget Sound region.
