With his hard-swinging quartet, the guitarist Dan Wilson, most recent LetterOne Rising Star title winner, merges the legacies of the jazz-guitar greats with gospel, blues, hip-hop, and hard bop. Joining Wilson are David Throckmorton (drums), Brandon Rose (bass), and Glenn Zaleski (piano).
Opening, beloved Seattle-based vocalist Elnah Jordan soulfully delivers gospel, jazz, blues, and R&B songs, drawing from her long stint portraying Bessie Smith in Jon Hendricks’s theater production Evolution of the Blues. Jordan recently released an album titled, People Get Ready, Dedication and Celebration of Life. Joining Elnah Jordan are Eric Verlinde (piano), Chris Symer (bass), and Steve Banks (drums).
