Eastside Jazz Club is delighted to be featuring Brent Jensen’s tribute to Paul Desmond. In 2002, Brent Jensen released “The Sound of a Dry Martini: Remembering Paul Desmond” on the Seattle-based Origin Records label. It charted at the #1 position on jazz radio stations across the country and was featured on the JazzWeek Top 100 and NPR “JazzWorks” Top 25 lists for that year. The success of that recording is a testament to the popularity of Paul Desmond, an integral part of the legendary Dave Brubeck Quartet. Brent will reunite with the guitarist from “Dry Martini”, Jamie Findlay along with bassist, Chris Symer, and drummer, Greg Williamson, to present an evening of music associated with the iconic cool jazz saxophonist. The second set will feature Gail Pettis as the guest vocalist. Shades of Carmen McRae with Dave Brubeck.
