Following a celebrated performance at the 2021 Earshot Jazz Festival, Immanuel Wilkins returns to Seattle to perform to perform with his stunning quartet on April 1 at the new Raisbeck Auditorium.* Wilkins is a saxophonist, composer, and arranger whose work “is filled with empathy and conviction, bonding arcs of melody and lamentation to pluming gestures of space and breath.” (artist website). His much-raved about debut album Omega was named #1 Jazz Album of the Year by New York Times. The 7th Hand, Wilkins’s most recent album, showcases the profundity of his compositional style, both in terms of conceptual and spiritual vision, as well as his pure compositional technique. Joining Immanuel Wilkins are Micah Thomas on piano, Rick Rosato on bass, and Kweku Sumbry on drums.
*Raisbeck Auditorium is a new performance space at Cornish College of the Arts. Not to be confused with the older Raisbeck Performance Hall next door, the new auditorium is located in the Ivey building on the corner of Lenora St and Boren Ave
