In his quartet, the Polish piano titan Joachim Mencel also performs on hurdy gurdy, a cranked fiddle of the Middle Ages. He and Pete McCann (guitars), Ugonna Okegwo (bass), and Allan Mednard (drums) create distinctive jazz. This performance will become a live-recorded CD with Seattle’s Origin Records label on the heels of their Brooklyn Eye which was named Best Recording 2020 in High Fidelity magazine.
Opening is M.O.M.: bassist and drummer François and Louis Moutin, identical twins, appear with Haitian-Canadian multi-genre, multi-horn player Jowee Omicil.
