Kate Voss Duo
April 3 @ 5:00 pm
In tiny Acme, Washington, Voss formed her first group when she was 11-years-old. The all-girl doo-wop group would later perform atop a limousine in the Lynden Christmas Parade and it’s been a wild ride ever since. A mainstay in the Seattle jazz scene, Voss has been performing music in the Emerald City since 2005. Today, she is perhaps best known for fronting her husband-and-wife nationally touring duo, Sundae + Mr. Goessl, a stylish blend of styles from Billie Holiday and Les Paul.
Along with her duo, the award-winning singer has participated in myriad other projects with Seattle standouts, from the prolific songwriter, Celene Ramadan, to the thoughtful pianist, Tim Kennedy. But to understand Voss as a musician completely, audiences must witness her on stage, dressed to the nines, bouncing her brilliant, bright voice on a microphone before transitioning to her signature medlodica for a lilting, flickering solo. – Jacob Uitti
