Composer/pianist/keyboardist Lao Tizer (www.laotizer.com) has enjoyed a two-decade-plus professional career, charting a course through various genres. His most recent CD release Songs from the Swinghouse represented an ambitious project featuring eight blistering original instrumentals and three iconic classic rock songs with reimagined arrangements. The entire recording session was documented in a simultaneous 8-camera HD video shoot for the included DVD. The collaboration included high-profile artists – guitarist Chieli Minucci, saxophonist Eric Marienthal, bassist Ric Fierabracci and violinist Karen Briggs. It represented an intersection of Tizer’s musical interests, which range from classic rock to traditional jazz to world music to funk.
Vocalist Elliott Yamin had his career impacted greatly from his 3rd place finish on Season 5 of American Idol. His first album Elliott Yamin debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 chart, at that time representing the highest ever debut for an independent artist in the history of Billboard magazine. The album delivered the single Wait for You, which garnered massive airplay. His soulful, R&B sound has the ability to reach audiences with sincere, health-felt emotion. He has since released several albums and has been collaborating and touring with Tizer in recent years. Rounding out the quartet are two in-demand Northwest-based musicians with lengthy resumes – Osama Afifi on bass and Brad Boal on drums.
