Town Hall and Earshot Jazz present Seattle’s favorite tap-dancing saxophonist Alex Dugdale—backed by a hard-swinging trio of piano, bass, and drums.

Free! Donations welcome.

Dugdale’s live performances have put his prodigious abilities on display, with his talents as a saxophonist and tap artist playing off each other to create an identity that is decidedly his own. With a hard and driving sound reminiscent of the hard bop artistry of his saxophone heroes Hank Mobley, Lester Young, and Johnny Griffin, Dugdale’s unique style incorporates melodic tap artistry as a solo instrument—combining smooth saxophone with aspects of rhythmic tap not normally associated with traditional jazz dance. Tune in for a concert from a performer who’s at the forefront of a wave of brilliant young jazz musicians, and learn why Dugdale has the Seattle jazz scene in good hands—and feet!

Alex Dugdale is a saxophonist, tap-dancer, and educator. He leads the FADE Quartet and has been featured as a lead tap artist in numerous performances with Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra. He also works as an educator inspiring jazz music in youth musicians across Seattle, serving with Bishop Blanchet High School in their Grade School Band Program, as well as Edmonds-Woodway High School and Eckstein Middle School.
