Marquis Hill: New Gospel Revisited
October 18 @ 7:30 pm

In-person* and livestream
Winner of the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz competition, the Chicago trumpeter Marquis Hill, embraces all African American musical forms in a jazz that is at once deeply distinctive and a reflection of all jazz-trumpet history. In his New Gospel Revisited project he bears that out with soaring support from Jahari Stampley (keys), Joshua Griffin (bass), and Jeremiah Collier (drums) as they build on Hill’s 2012 album, New Gospel.
