Since studying together at Manhattan School of Music, the Oak Harbor-raised guitarist Miles Okazaki, a regular with Steve Coleman and Five Elements, and acclaimed drummer Dan Weiss draw on 20 years of collaborations. They explore extreme rhythmic territory and freely construct flowing improvised sets. Their music is “hyperacute and superdynamic, with myriad strategies at play,” said critic Nate Chinen.
