December 8, 2021 @ 7:00 pm10:00 pm

Wednesdays at The Spar present: Watercolors Quartet
Brady McCowan is a multi-instrumentalist specializing in saxophone and drums. Born in Washington, D.C., he steadily made his way West to Tacoma, Washington where he currently teaches private lessons and performs with a variety of bands playing covers and original music in styles ranging from jazz and blues to dance and indie rock.
Ian Crocker is a guitarist, ukulele player, and teaching artist in Tacoma, Washington. After a long personal break from performance, Ian is grateful to return to playing for live audiences–always in the vital spirit of sharing sound, opening space, and acting a fool onstage.
Craig Cootsona began playing drums at age 11 and soon developed a love for the instrument. He received formal education in school concert bands and also learned drum set by playing along with his favorite recordings. He funded college and graduate school by playing music and continued to play throughout his career as an industrial R&D scientist and more recently as a manufacturing business owner.
Pianist and composer Kacey Evans began his career at nineteen with cruise ship big bands. After several years working as a sideman and arranger for various acts in Las Vegas and Southern California, he returned to Washington and works as a solo pianist and entertainer, participant in the local jazz scene, and electronic music experimentalist.
Together, as the newly-formed Watercolors Quartet, we offer a diversity of blues, funk, and rock tunes all heavily influenced by our shared backgrounds in jazz. Our style balances fun energetic playing with both sensitivity and bold adventurousness, sure to give you something to talk about over any beverage.
