Eastside Jazz Club Vocalist Eugenie Jones & Lady Be Good
The Eastside Jazz Club is hosting a performance from Eugenie Jones and a screening of ‘Lady Be Good: Instrumental Women in Jazz’ by Kay D. Ray.
The film tells the story of all-women jazz big bands from the 1920s through 1970s and recently got funding for final edits and clearances for production. Eugenie Jones is business owner, consultant, marketing specialist, and vocalist that only started to take up singing 5 years ago. She balances her passion with her fulltime schedule and made her professional debut 2 years ago.

Earshot Jazz Festival’s 25th anniversary hosts 60 distinct concerts including Keith Jarrett, Gary Peacock & Jack DeJohnette 30th anniversary Concert, Charles Lloyd, Bill Frisell, and Philip Glass.
Steve Griggs’ Panama Hotel Jazz Project w/ Jay Thomas, Susan Pascal, Milo Petersen, Phil Sparks
Steve Griggs leads Jay Thomas, Susan Pascal, Milo Petersen, and Phil Sparks in performances inspired by his research into Seattle’s historic Panama Hotel and the Jamie Ford novel “Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet”. Griggs aims “at the depths of the American experience with his subjects”. This current project paints a picture of 1940s Japanese American experiences at the hotel.
Letter From The Director
Executive Director, John Gilbreath, celebrates Earshot Jazz turning 30 years old soon as well as the upcoming 25th anniversary of the festival. He highlights the hard and diligent work of this small “spunky” organization, and expresses his gratitude for the non-profit’s many relationships, including those with the Seattle Art Museum, Cornish College of the Arts, and Tula’s Jazz Club.
Christian Pincock Group
Christian Pincock Presents release concert for his new album “Plentiful Excitement”. Pincock, who has been in Seattle since January, is establishing himself in the local scene collaborating with Robin Holcomb, Wayne Horvitz, David Mariott, Tom Varner, and acts as board member for Table & Chairs. Through hosting his radio show “The House That Jazz Built” on KNUM 89.9, he came to know many Seattleites, helping convince him to move up to the west coast.

Those events are the Summer at SAM, Dancing til Dusk, Interbay Golf Center BBQ Jazz, Magnolia Summerfest, ZooTunes at Woodland Park Zoo, Jazz Under the Stars, Jazz on the Lawn at Cedarbrook Lodge, Arts in Nature Festival, Concerts at Ballard Locks, Bradner Gardens Park Summer Jazz Concerts, and jazz performances at the Bumbershoot: Starbucks Stage.
