Jack Straw Artist Residencies
Applications for 2014 Jack Straw Residencies are now available. Applications are due Monday, November 4. Residencies are available in the Jack Straw Writers, Artist Support and New Media Gallery programs. The Artist Support Program awards 20 hours of recording and production time in the Jack Straw recording studios, with a Jack Straw engineer. The New Media Gallery Program invites artists to present a sound installation in the Jack Straw New Media Gallery, including an opening reception, artist presentations and other events. 4Culture’s 2014 Site Specific Program
4Culture is seeking site-specific proposals from King County-based artists, individuals, and organizations. Site-specific projects explore creative partnerships with one or more King County historic sites, resulting in public presentation or installation in 2014. A roster of historic sites is available at sitespecificarts.org; applicants can choose to work with other sites. The Site Specific Program began in 2005 and funds the presentation of visual art, installations or performances in alternative and non-traditional settings in King County, highlighting the area’s people, historic architecture and landscapes. Deadline to apply is October 9, with awards ranging from $1,000-$20,000.
Earshot Jazz Festival Volunteering & Internships
Earshot Jazz seeks office volunteers and production interns for Earshot 25, the 25th annual Earshot Jazz Festival, October 1-November 17. Internships are unpaid; academic credit may apply. Studio or stage production experience is a plus, though not required. Please email schraepfer@earshot.org.
