Café Racer Memorial Benefit
Artists who gathered for the Café Racer Memorial Benefit concert last June 7 met again at the Royal Room in September, for a DVD release party. The free concert and DVD release party was a fundraiser for the Café Racer Shooting Memorial Fund, featuring Bakelite 78, The Bad Things and musicians from Cafe Racer’s weekly Racer Sessions. The Café Racer Shooting Memorial Fund has raised more than $80,000 and hopes to raise another $20,000 through sales of the DVD and through ongoing donations from the Brown Paper Tickets Artist Ticket Program. Brown Paper Tickets presented a check of $7,000 from their Brown Paper Tickets Artist Ticket crowdfunding program.

Host Bob Strickland emails that the jams at the Prohibition Gastropub, Everett, have been canceled. “We will miss playing there and seeing all of our friends and supporters on alternate Sunday afternoons. Thanks to Rishi Brown and her marvelous staff for three-and-a-half fun years,” he writes.
