Kassa Overall, a Grammy-nominated jazz visionary, drummer, emcee, singer and producer, is redefining modern jazz with social commentary and sonic innovation. Overall presents his fourth LP CREAM, an homage to jazz drumming à la Elvin Jones and hip-hop in equal measure. Opening: the Seattle debut of Senegalese bassist Alune Wade whose bass-driven Afro-jazz offers deep roots and worldly grooves. He blends jazz and Afrobeat, tracing the deep connections between West African rhythms, Lagos grooves, and the bold brass sounds of New Orleans.
