Since 1990, Earshot has brought the Seattle jazz community together annually for the Golden Ear Awards. This event acknowledges the inspirational talent and contributions of local musicians throughout the past year. The tradition continues on March 14 at the Royal Room in Columbia City. After two long years of canceled shows and virtual concerts, these awards will be a reminder of the value of live music, the artists who create it, and acknowledging and celebrating the resilience of our community.

The evening begins at 7pm with a performance by D’Vonne Lewis’ Limited Edition. Lewis, a well-known and respected drummer and two-time Golden Ear Award winner, will be joined by musicians Eric Verlinde on piano, Cliff Colón on sax, Andy Coe on guitar, Farko Dosumov on bass, and Jacques Willis on vibes. Following their performance, will be the the awards emceed by saxophonist Alex Dugdale. Dugdale has become a favorite in the Seattle jazz community and was himself named NW Jazz Instrumentalist of the Year at the 2021 Golden Ear Awards. The evening will conclude with the regular Monday night jam session led by seven-time Golden Ear Award winner Thomas Marriott. As always, the jam session will be open to musicians of all levels and go late!
