Christian Pincock Presents release concert for his new album “Plentiful Excitement”. Pincock, who has been in Seattle since January, is establishing himself in the local scene collaborating with Robin Holcomb, Wayne Horvitz, David Mariott, Tom Varner, and acts as board member for Table & Chairs. Through hosting his radio show “The House That Jazz Built” on KNUM 89.9, he came to know many Seattleites, helping convince him to move up to the west coast.
Steve Griggs leads Jay Thomas, Susan Pascal, Milo Petersen, and Phil Sparks in performances inspired by his research into Seattle’s historic Panama Hotel and the Jamie Ford novel “Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet”. Griggs aims “at the depths of the American experience with his subjects”. This current project paints a picture of 1940s Japanese American experiences at the hotel.
The 7th annual North City Jazz Walk will be hosting a wide variety of performances including Count Basie’s Orchestra, Solomon Douglas’ Swinget, Industrial Air, Doug Reid, and Al Keith’s group.
