He also discusses Paul de Barros’ book Jackson Street After Hours: The Roots of Jazz in Seattle and gives a shout out to the young artists of the Garfield, Roosevelt, and Bothell high school jazz programs who represented Seattle jazz at the Essentially Ellington festival.
