The Offbeats Vocal Jazz Ensemble is a 17-member group of men and women who perform high-caliber vocal jazz arrangements in a variety of styles written for up to eight parts. With internationally acclaimed Seattle jazz vocalist Kelley Johnson as musical director, the group strives towards excellence in musicality and performance. Accompanied by Seattle’s top jazz musicians, the Offbeats perform with a professional rhythm section led by accomplished jazz pianist, John Hansen.

Featuring the Pro-Am Big Band every third Thursday! A mix of professionals, band directors and students, the full 16-piece big band performs and workshops arrangements from Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Thad Jones, and some originals from within the band. Curated by Matso Limtiaco (arranger and bari sax, Emerald City Jazz Orchestra) and Greg Williamson (drums, Woody Herman alumn), this is part community band, part educational bring-them-up, and all hard-hitting, pro-quality, big band jazz.

Born in Seattle, Michael Glynn began playing bass at the age of 11.
