Maiden Voyage is honored to join Earshot Jazz Festival in presenting two special listening sessions. Earshot alum and keyboard wizard Noel Brass Jr. will be our special guest selector on October 21 and share some of his favorite records. Noel is a Seattle-based composer, keyboardist, educator, and founding member of the local psychedelic trio Afrocop. His music explores a captivating intersection between spacey ambience, cosmic jazz, sci-fi soundtracks which will be reflected in his choices for the night’s program. As a special bonus, Hawthorne Stereo provide specially curated amps and speakers for us to enjoy. The friendly experts from Hawthorne will be on hand to to chat about hi-fi gear and their legendary Seattle shop. Catch Maiden Voyage’s next Listening Session with Ted Poor on Saturday November 4.
