This is the third performance by Earshot Jazz Festival’s Resident Artist, Johnaye Kendrick. Listeners are in for a extraordinary treat—the premiere of Kendrick’s Chamber Music America & Jack Straw supported original suite “Grounded”—a multi-movement work for string quartet, jazz quartet with Kendrick on vocals, harmonium and other healing instruments. Ensemble members include Dawn Clement (piano), Chris Symer (bass), and D’Vonne Lewis (drums). Other ensemble members TBA.
* Raisbeck Auditorium is a new performance space at Cornish College of the Arts. Not to be confused with the older Raisbeck Performance Hall next door, the new auditorium is located in the Ivey building on the corner of Lenora St and Boren Ave.
