THE SPICE BOX, is an eclectic (east meets west) band, performing; classic jazz standards, pop, folk and blues with unexpected spicy twists and turns.
Mehnaz Hoosein is an award winning, Hindustani classically trained singer, performer and songwriter from Mumbai, India who thrives on musical collaborations with artists from around the world.
She fuses genres ranging from Pop, Jazz, Folk, Rock, Blues, Bollywood, Hindustani Classical and World Music and vocalizes in multiple languages.
Mehnaz was the lead singer of the Seattle-based band Manooghi Hi
and is now the lead singer of the band Tikkadoom.

KENT IS EASILY ONE OF THE SEATTLE UNDERGROUND’S MOST CELEBRATED FIGURES. HE IS CURRENTLY A MEMBER OF SARUNA, WEST SEATTLE SOUL & RUBIES IN THE DUST, AND HAS BEEN A MEMBER OF MANOOGHI HI AND DABOUGE.
HAVING PERFORMED AND WRITTEN WITH SEATTLE MUSIC ROYALTY SUCH AS SHAWN SMITH, LEGENDARY DRUMMER KJ SAWKA & SKY CRIES MARY, HE ALSO TOURED EXTENSIVELY AS A MEMBER OF AMERICAN IDOL STAR BLAKE LEWIS’ BAND ADD. WHILE WITH BLAKE, KENTPLAYED ON MANY NATIONAL TV SHOWS AND IN ARENAS.
Larry Mahlis is a drummer/percussionist who is known as an original and versatile voice on drum set and percussion. He has performed numerous times in orchestral halls, clubs and concert venues and has appeared on a number of recordings in addition to film and TV soundtrack work. Larry has performed in the US, Japan, Mexico and Canada.
Jimmy Thomas has been a fixture on guitar and bass in Seattle since 1979, playing jazz, rock, funk and blues. Jimmy has performed with Washington Blues Society hall of fame guitarist Billy Stapleton and Grammy nominated vocalist, Mark Dufresne. He played bass with Micheal Shrieve in the experimental improv jazz band The Lords of Compassion. https://michaelshrieve.bandcamp.com/album/michael-shrieves-lords-of-compassion-live-at-the-crocodile Jimmy was a member of the squirrels for close to 30 years, playing guitar, recording engineer, producer, singer and sometimes bass. Jimmy was in Manooghi Hi with Mehnaz, Kent and occasionally, Larry. He has released three jazz/fusion albums in the last five years under the name Emotional Android.
