Seattle’s dynamic, go-to drummer D’Vonne Lewis won the award for Outstanding Drum Soloist at the Essential Ellington competition at Jazz at Lincoln Center three years straight while in high school, in 2013 he was awarded Earshot Jazz’s Golden Ear Award, Instrumentalist of the Year.
